These three are our most popular signs. They are 100% wood and hand painted. Designed around the nautical signal flag alphabet, each is a custom framed message. Last names, boat names, inspiring words, grandchild initials all make great statements and gifts.

Our signs come in five sizes:

• Large is best for outdoors or a large room indoors.
• Medium is our most popular and is good inside and out.
• Smalls & Minis: used indoors but can also brighten up a porch, boathouse, or smaller outdoor space.

Sizes & Prices

​​​This is the nautical alphabet. Its development began in the 18th century by British, French and American seamen.  It was used by merchant and warships until the widespread use of wireless radio.  Flags, representing letters, were strung together to make words or code signals and hauled up the mast. This communication system also included pennants to represent numbers. 

Today nautical flags and pennants are used for colorful ceremonial displays by sea going vessels on special occasions.   Make yours today!

Here is a fitting gift for anyone who made it through 2021/2022, it's one of our mini signs with the flags:  ​Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Our signs are based on the nautical alphabet. Each letter in that alphabet also has a phonetic name, Alpha represents "A", Bravo Represents "B", etc. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot has a special meaning for anyone slightly bewildered by problems we have all faced this year.

​Last names are popular requests, but other people ask for boat names, house names, kids initials or meaningful words like love, family, gratitude and welcome.  The fact that the signs don’t tell you exactly what is spelled is also a great conversation piece.

Another craft getting attention on our property is my location sign – also done to bide time in between TV gigs.  It represents places John and I have been,  each pointing in the correct direction with actual mileage.  We didn’t know it would be a hit but every day, people stop and take pictures.  It even made the local newspaper.  One customer recently ordered this gift for a 4 year anniversary present to his wife - highlighting a buck-list wishlist of places to go.  Since these signs are so personal it's best to reach out to me, pamela@ipswichrivercraft.com so we can craft the design together.
